COVID-19 has the potential to further derail our young men’s educations this school year. Students without access to a personal laptop and wifi are at a huge disadvantage. Grizzlies Prep wants to provide every student access to a Chromebook and wifi so that students can learn no matter the circumstance. We are relying on the generosity of Memphians to make this happen.
A Stable Education in an Uncertain World
It costs $325 to provide a student with a Chromebook, access to Google Classrooms, and a warranty. When you give a student Chromebook, you are giving them a stable education in an uncertain world. With a laptop:
Students can access daily curriculum and turn in work.
Parents are less stressed knowing their child can continue to learn no matter what.
Teachers are able to provide virtual lessons and feedback.
Grizzlies Prep is able to prioritize health without sacrificing student academic growth.
65% of our families said that lack of technology will be the greatest barrier this school year.
It seems that almost every aspect of our health and well being has been effected by COVID-19. Unfortunately many of our families are being disproportionately effected by this crisis. If your finances and well being have not been challenged by this pandemic, we ask that you leverage your resources to help our community. Memphis is known for our generosity.
